Aviation English for ATCO Students
Course description
A structure of the course is designed so that Aviation English is systematically introduced and presented to ATC students within their Basic Training. The students will be able to speak about aviation and ATC related topics using Aviation English on minimum of ICAO L4 upon the completion of the course.
Course content
- Introduction of Aviation English topics
- Introduction of Aviation English vocabulary, incl. case studies of standard and non-standard situations
- Listening skills development with the help of multimedia
- Spoken skills improvement to ensure the ability to speak about unusual situations and aviation topics in broader context than phraseology
Course duration
A content and the length of the course varies according to the needs/requests of a client, and/or on the level of English of course participants.
Prerequisites
Minimum: between Intermediate (CEFR B1) and Upper-Intermediate (CEFR B2) level of English
Course objectives
The course aim is to provide ATC students with Aviation English language skills needed in the ATCO operational environment. The course incorporates real-life recordings, based on Aviation English vocabulary, and stimulates students´ spoken skills.

The course is designed to increase the participants’ confidence and to stimulate their Aviation English language abilities and skills.
ELPAC Preparation Course
Course description
A structure of the course is designed to introduce the structure of EPAC Exam and to consolidate Aviation English, especially to consolildate and enhance Aviation English vocabulary, listening and speaking skills on minimum of ICAO L4 upon the completion of the course.

Course Objectives
The course aims to revise and improve ATCOs’ listening and speaking language skills of air traffic control issues. Special attention is paid to the development of Aviation English vocabulary in non-standard situations, and also abilities to express themselves in plain English when necessary and when phraseology does not cover different issues in their operational environment. The course objectives contribute to passing exam ICAO Level 4 according to NK (EU) 2015/340 successfully.

ATCO Aviation English Refresher Course (AEREF)
Course Design
The course is designed to enhance ATCOs abilities and knowledge of the English language in the operational environment in both standard and non-standard situations.

Special attention is paid to the development of Aviation English vocabulary in non-standard situations and also abilities to express themselves in plain English when necessary and when phraseology does not cover different issues in their operational environment. Course Duration
1 to 2 weeks.
Course Content
Introduction, needs analysis – outcome incorporated into the course syllabus accordingly
- Study of communication operational errors that might have resulted in possible emergency situations
- Intensive listening to authentic recordings of standard and non-standard situations
- Unusual situations language review, speaking skills extension, case studies discussion
- Aviation issues in Air Traffic Control and broader context, opinions and arguments are discussed in depth
- Course priorities can be altered according to the needs of the client, including the addition of exam preparation units aimed at ICAO Level 4 compliance.
- Focus on General English so that participants are able to express themselves in a language different from standard phraseology, when necessary.
