OJTI/STDI Training Program (OJTI/STDI)

Course Description

OJTI/STDI Training is a course designed for experienced air traffic controllers who wish to become On-the-Job Training Instructors (OJTI) or Synthetic Training Device Instructors (STDI). The course is focused on providing participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to train and assess air traffic control students.

The goal of the initial On the Job Training Instructor (OJTI) Training Course is to enable the ATCO to earn for OJTI endorsement on their Air Traffic Controller (ATCO) license.

Course Content

The ATCO applicant is at the forefront of our training program. We use current educational methods and universally recognized pedagogical concepts to equip ATCOs with the crucial theoretical knowledge and assessment skills needed to provide candidates with high-class theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to receive for an OJTI endorsement.

Research has proven that evidence-based teaching strategies are consistent have the largest influence on student learning results. The course instructs ATCOs on how to operate in their new capacity as OJTI, presenting them an overview of training theories applied in a modern pedagogical and grateful training environment.

Progressing onward, the course explores such topics as modern coaching techniques and how they can be adopted in an operational environment, the planning of lessons, sources of errors, the question techniques and much more.

The initial OJTI course is conducted at CANI or can be alternatively can be held at the customer site – feel free to contact us to discuss arrangements.

CANI and the initial OJTI Training Course are certified by the Czech Civil Aviation Authority in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340.

Prerequisites

  • An ATCO license in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340
  • Have exercised the privileges of an ATCO licence for a period of at least two years

  • Theoretical topics in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340 such as Human Factors, planning and conduct of training sessions, management of interventions correctly, sources of errors etc.

OJTI/STDI Refresher Training (OJTI/STDI REF)

Course Description

OJTI/STDI Refresher Training is a course designed for experienced air traffic control instructors seeking to refresh their knowledge and skills in instructional techniques, assessing and providing feedback to students, and managing a training program. The course is focused on providing participants with the latest updates on training methods, regulations, and technology.

The goal of the On the Job Training Instructor (OJTI) Refresher Training Course is to allow the ATCO to revalidate the OJTI endorsement on their Air Traffic Controller (ATCO) license.

We use current educational methods and universally recognized pedagogical concepts to equip ATCOs with the crucial theoretical knowledge and assessment skills needed to provide candidates with high-class theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to revalidate their OJTI endorsement.

The training course is designed to refresh ATCOs understanding of training theories used in a modern pedagogical and grateful learning environment in accordance with regulations. CANI also introduces modern topics such as future digitalization within the aviation industry and initiating critical dialogue on new teaching methods.

Innovative learning methods and technologies are crucial for the development of OJTI’s and the training environments. In accordance with this mindset, the course employs simulator exercises which concentrates on the ATCOs establishing an optimal learning environment from a learning and motivational point of view.

Assessor Training (ASSESSOR)

Course Description

Assessor Training is a course designed for individuals seeking to become competent assessors in the field of air traffic control. The course is focused on providing participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to assess the competency of air traffic control trainees or controllers.

The purpose of the initial Assessor training course is to allow the ATCO to apply for an Assessor endorsement on their Air Traffic Controller (ATCO) license.

Course Content

CANI has created an Assessor training course that puts the ATCO at the forefront of the training program. Through the use of current educational methods and universally recognized pedagogical concepts, this course equips ATCOs with the crucial theoretical knowledge and assessment skills needed to apply for an Assessor endorsement.

The training course is will provide a comprehensive understanding of the EU 2015/340 regulation and operational competence assessment schemes including a wide range of assessment methods.

CANI recognizes the role of Assessors as being highly essential for both the Civil Aviation Authority and the Air Navigation Service Provider. The training course focuses on the psychological influence for both the Assessor and for colleagues after this endorsement is achieved. It also focuses on the differences between colleagues, OJTIs and CTIs towards the Assessor position and its significance.

CANI and the initial Assessor training course are certified by the Czech Civil Aviation Authority in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340.

  • Worked with the authority of an ATCO license for a period of at least two years

Assessor Refresher Training (ASSESSOR REF)

Assessor Refresher Training is a course designed for experienced assessors in the field of air traffic control who wish to refresh their knowledge and skills in assessing the competency of trainees or controllers. The course is focused on providing participants with the latest updates on assessment methodologies, reporting standards, and feedback techniques.

The purpose of the Assessor Refresher training course is to allow the ATCO to revalidate the Assessor endorsement on their Air Traffic Controller (ATCO) license.

Course Content

CANI's Assessor refresher training course that puts the ATCO at the forefront of the training program. Through the use of current educational methods and universally recognized pedagogical concepts, this course equips ATCOs with the crucial theoretical knowledge and assessment skills needed to revalidate their Assessor endorsement.

The training course is based on on a participant-based learning concept, signifying that once ATCOs have achieved an endorsement as an Assessor (CAS), we can provide a modern learning environment to reach even higher standards in their organizations. The ATCO is expected to take part in a wide range of conversations and exchanges initiated by our professional instructors.

CANI also features simulations at the Assessor refresher course. Simulators provide the opportunity to review past experiences and consider new methods for Assessors under supervision. Simulation exercises between experienced colleagues bring about a wider understanding and exciting discussions.
