ATCO Basic training course covers a wide range of topics related to air traffic control and aviation and are designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in air traffic control.

Aspiring Air Traffic Control (ATCO) trainees begin their journey at CANI’s ICAO compliant ATCO Basic Training Course which provides a solid foundation to ensure the advancement to an ATCO rating training course.

Course content

Whether trainees are heading towards an Aerodrome Control Tower, Approach Control Unit or Area Control Centre, our Basic Training Course lays a foundation of theoretical knowledge and basic practical skills in compliance with relevant ICAO regulations.

The content of the course is a first step towards a Student Air Traffic Controller license, covering aspects such as Air Traffic Management, Rules of the Air, Aircraft etc. required to perform as an Air Traffic Controller. The course holds an introduction to all ATC environments – Tower, Approach and Area Control. CANI is certified by the Czech Civil Aviation Authority in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340.

Prerequisites

The specific components of our service vary based on the requirements of our clients. Typically consists of FEAST testing and an assessment of English language proficiency in preparation for future ELPAC testing. Compulsory prerequisite is also Medical examination in compliance with Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340.

Course Description

Aerodrome Control Instrument Rating for Tower (ADI/TWR) Training is a course designed for individuals seeking a career in air traffic control. The course focuses on providing knowledge and skills necessary to control aircraft movements in Visual meteorological conditions (VMC) and Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC).

The goal of the Aerodrome Control Rating (ADC) Training Course is to enable the aspiring trainee to earn a Student Air Traffic Controller license for Tower operation.

Course Content

The trainee is at the forefront of our training program, current educational methods and universally recognized pedagogical concepts, this course equips ATCOs with the crucial theoretical knowledge and assessment skills needed to provide candidates with high-class theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to receive a Student Air Traffic Controller license.

The program is conducted separate training phases centered on a blended theoretical- and practical training methodology, ensuring that the trainees successfully learn how to apply theoretical knowledge into practical skills.
