Czech ATCO students Achieve ACS Rating

A group of future Czech air traffic controllers has completed the Area Control Surveillance (ACS) Rating at CANI, marking another important milestone on their journey towards becoming licensed ATCOs.

The trainees began their Initial Training in January with Basic Training before progressing to the ACS Rating phase in April. Throughout the programme, they combined theoretical instruction with intensive simulator-based practice, building the competencies needed to manage air traffic in en-route surveillance control environments.

Completing the ACS Rating reflects months of dedicated study, practical training, and continuous assessment. Along the way, participants developed the knowledge, skills, and decision-making abilities required to keep air traffic flowing safely and efficiently, even in complex operational scenarios. Their achievement was celebrated during a closing ceremony, where trainees received their certificates and congratulations from CANI's Head of ATM Training. It was a proud moment marking the culmination of their Initial Training, and a fitting reflection of the hard work, commitment, and professionalism they've shown throughout the programme.

Training now continues at IATCC Jeneč, where participants will build on these skills as part of the next phase of ATCO training — bringing them one step closer to earning their ATCO Licence. Congratulations to all graduates, and we wish them every success in the next stage of their journey.

Together, we are building the skills that keep skies safe.
