International ATSEP Cohort Advances Air Traffic Safety Expertise at CANI
The ATSEP Basic Training was successfully delivered in Prague, welcoming an international group of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) professionals to an intensive three‑week training programme.
Participants from Naviair, Fintraffic, Copenhagen Airports, Greenland Airports, Pituffik Space Base, the Danish Air Force, Aero Vodochody Aerospace, and ANS CR represented a diverse mix of air navigation service providers, airports, military and aerospace organisations. This broad international participation enabled a valuable exchange of operational experience and best practices.
The ATSEP Basic Training covered key areas including air traffic familiarisation, communication, navigation and surveillance systems, data processing, system monitoring, safety management, human factors and information security, fully aligned with ICAO and EUROCONTROL competency requirements.
In line with our “learning by doing” approach, theoretical instruction was complemented by simulator training, live demonstrations and visits to operational units, reinforcing participants’ practical understanding of real ATM environments. All participants successfully met the required training and assessment criteria, further enhancing their professional competence in air traffic safety electronics. Through international ATSEP training programmes, we continue to support the development of highly qualified technical personnel and contribute to the safety, reliability and resilience of air navigation services across Europe and beyond.
